About
22 years old, born in the North. Lived in the North. Loved in the North.
I’m Emmi Meriruoko, or “Lulu”. I was never great at words, so I used other methods to help me speak. Art helps me bring out the things I desperately want to talk about, but can’t quite find out how to.
To me, art is everything:
From our bodies to our minds, from what we eat, to the way we dress.
The life of a person is endless self-discovery, and as artists, we are never complete. This is why I refuse to put myself in a box strapped with labels.
Instead, I’m an ever-evolving chameleon:
Learning, enduring, adapting, discovering. Sometimes failing and struggling, but ultimately never giving up on discovering new ways to create.
I create to heal my childhood self that I never got to be.
